Tagawa Garden Bird World

Tagawa's Bird World has a great selection of multiple seed mixtures, seed feeders, bird baths, bird houses and great literature to help you get started.

We can also assist you with organic gardening suggestions and plants that will make both you and the wildlife very happy. Tagawa's Bird World carries everything you need to turn your backyard into a natural habitat.

Single seeds carried: safflower, corn on cob, peanuts in shell, black oil sunflower and nyjer (a.k.a. thistle).

Mixes we carry: Mountain Munch, Chicakee Cheer, Estate blend, Wing Dinger, Sunrise Dove, Perfect Patio* (no more mess), Patio Panhandler* (no more mess)
We also carry seasonal suet, hummingbird food, fruit mixes and seasonal mixes.

Confused by the 50+ varieties of feeders we carry? We put feeders that require specific food next to that food or seed.

Do you need a nesting box for a wren or a bat? We carry both along with several more.

All birds need water so we also carry quite a few bird baths.

Classes

We offer classes throughout the year. “Introduction to Bird Feeding” is offered in February (National Bird Feeding Month) and usually again in the late summer or fall. Other classes offered are “Landscaping for Birds and Wildlife”, “Preparing Your Yard For Birds In The Winter” and “Creating a Wild Corner For Your Small Suburban Backyard”.

These classes are taught by Leslie Anderson, a 7 year Tagawa employee with training from the National Wildlife Federation’s Backyard Habitat program and is a volunteer naturalist at Castlewood Canyon State Park.

Leslie is constantly updating her handouts for you to take home. Need a list of hummingbird plants, want to cut down on pesticides-try companion planting, why are herb gardens go great for butterflies?

National Bird Feeding Month

Every February we celebrate National Bird Feeding Month with a sale on the entire Bird World epartment for the entire month!! We also have a Bird & Wildlife Festival for a weekend in February. This festival consists of non-stop classes for kids & adults, information booths and educational games for the kids.
