Our Story:

Tagawa Gardens opened its door to the community 29 years ago. However, the greenhouses at 7711 S. Parker Rd. already had a long history in the local area. Built in the early 1960's, throughout the years the greenhouse supplied the local area with tomatoes, fresh cut carnations and long-stem roses. The Tagawa family purchased these greenhouses in 1976 and quietly continued to grow beautiful roses. The 1982 Christmas Blizzard crushed many of the greenhouses and the family decided to take the opportunity to change the course of the greenhouse's history. When the doors re-opened, Tagawa Gardens was introduced to the local community.

Things were very different in those first years. Natural dirt floors and wooden tables displayed the top-quality plants grown on the premises. Only 5000 square feet of the greenhouse was open to the public. Four coworkers ran the shop. It was a very relaxed and slow-paced time, very reflective of the growth and economy. Recent years have brought more people to the local community as they discovered the beauty of the Centannial area and made it their home. This growth has helped Tagawa's mature into what it has become today-a gathering place to provide plants, flowers, other gardening supplies to help beautify homes and the community.

Gone are the wholesale long-stem roses to make way for in-house production of rose bushes, geraniums, specialty annuals, perennials, container gardens, poinsettias and other crops to ensure the quality of these plants for its visitors. Today the store has grown to more than 110,000 sq. ft. indoors, over a half-acre of outdoor nursery. There are approx.  40 year round employees, and over 100 seasonally. Much care is taken by every co-worker to provide the best and newest plants, products and information available. A family feeling amongst the staff is pervasive and carries over to the relaxed, warm and comfortable atmosphere found at Tagawa's and reflected to our Guests. This feeling is because of the Tagawa Family and their consistent kindness and integrity, creating a wonderful working environment. Visitors are always considered our Guests at Tagawa Gardens!

Guests to Tagawa's can stroll through acres of an indoor and outdoor oasis of lush plants, beautiful flowers, blooming display gardens and leisurely chat with garden enthusiasts and experts about their concerns.
